An apparatus for carrying out liquid-liquid mi-croextraction or liquid-liquid-liquid micro extractionwith high enrichment comprises: a) a container fora sample solution having volume Vs with dissolvedsubstance, analyte, to be analysed, b) a secondcon-tainer arranged in the first container, preferably adis-posable container, having permeable membrane walls,for an acceptor solution, having volume Va, wherein1) Vs:Va = 50 and 2) about 1 µl = Va = 50 µl, c)stir-ring means, preferably a magnetic bar. The method isapplicable for liquid-liquid micro extraction (LLME)and liquid-liquid-liquid micro extraction (LLLME)with high enrichment. In the latter case, a liquidim-miscible with the sample solution and the acceptorsolution is immobilised in the wall of the containerfor the acceptor solution. There is also described adisposable device for use in liquid-liquid microex-traction in the form of a sponge body having definedpore volume for absorption of an immobilised accep-torsolution for an analyte from a volume of a samplesolution.
