A control system for judging, of a brake force amplifier system comprises a motor evaluation system, which detects a switched-off engine condition. A pressure evaluation module is monitored during the switched-off engine condition a hydraulic brake line pressure, detects a braking force amplifier pressure change and determines a braking force amplifier vacuum degradation rate based on the braking force amplifier pressure change. If a fault message module detects a brake force amplifier a system disturbance based on the brake line pressure and the braking force amplifier vacuum degradation rate.
