PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure diagnosing device for a refrigerating cycle device of a simple constitution, capable of predicting failure with current instantaneous data, not needing storage of past data and duration time for a long time, and detecting failure factor of refrigerant leakage and clogging of a heat exchanger not caused by air-conditioning cycle parameter. PSOLUTION: A range capable of taking a value of cycle parameter is divided into a plurality of sections, each section is provided with a prescribed level value, a weighting factor indicating relative contribution degree of each failure factor to variation of the level value of the cycle parameter is determined, a measurement value of the cycle parameter is acquired, the level value corresponding to the measurement value is specified, further the specified level value of the cycle parameter is multiplied by the weighting factor of the cycle parameter on one failure factor, and a value of chance for failure indicating the chance of the failure factor to be the cause of failure is calculated from a value obtained by adding results of the multiplication on all of cycle parameters.
