The invention relates to a process for the cold forming of metal profiles and to a rolling forming machine, the so obtained profiles being meant to reinforce PVC window frames. The claimed cold forming process consists in unrolling the metal sheet rolls, cutting them into strips, welding the metal strips at the ends and winding the same on a drum of a rolling subassembly, before the forming operation, the metal strip being subjected to a knurling operation characterized in that the metal strip is passed through some knurled rolls, where streaks are made all over the strip, at intervals of 2.5 mm, on alternating and shifted rows, the streaks having round, square or other geometric shape and the depth thereof ranging between 0.1 and 0.3 mm, the so knurled metal strip being finally subjected to the forming operation. The claimed cold forming machine is characterized in that it comprises a working and control table (1) on whose upper shaft (A) there is placed a first adjustable knurled roll (2), mounted on two thrust bearings (3), while on the lower shaft (B) there is placed a second knurled roll (4), shifted in relation with the axis of the first knurled roll (2), the two rolls (2 and 4) being continued on both upper and lower shafts, by some adjustable forming rolls (5) which, at one end, have mounted a driving pinion (6) and are driven by an intermediate driving pinion (7), mounted on a gearmotor shaft.
