A method is proposed for the production of a genuine metal keyboard (2) and a prepared in accordance with this method being authentic metal keyboard (2). In addition to the subsequent presence of a genuine metal keyboard (2) is also attained, is that this truly metal keyboard (2) can be manufactured and assembled economically. The genuine metal keyboard (2) has keyboards (17) completely encircling individual keys (18) with this embodiment, (12), which a gap of from 0,1 to 0,2 mm. The method for producing such a truly metal keyboard (2) has a first etching by means of the barrel for the introduction of graphic symbols in a serving as a base sheet (1) on. It has then a first silicone behind spraying process, in which on the rear side of the metal sheet (1) a silicone layer (4) is applied. It has further a printing process, in which on the silicone the rear side (5) silicone layer (4), colored elements (6; 7; 8) or light barriers (9) are applied. It then has a second silicone behind spraying process, in which directly on the rear side (5) of the printed silicone layer (4) a second silicon layer (15) is applied to the design of a predetermined geometry ensure the function of the power of the genuine metal keyboard (2). Finally, it has a second etching process, in which on the front side of the metal sheet (1) the keys grid (16) in the metal sheet (1) is etched.
