FLUORESCENT LAMP AND LIGHTING DEVICE. The present invention relates to a total length of a fluorescent lamp which is made short to allow the fluorescent lamp to be reduced in size and the different part of the fluorescent lamp to be shortened in order to advantageously improve the design potentials and enhance the lighting effect. A fluorescent lamp 20 to be fitted to a supply side element 10, or a ceiling hook having a pair of retaining holes and a pair of supply side terminals arranged in corresponding positions comprises a main fluorescent lamp body 21 , a case containing an inverter 22 disposed on one end next to the main body of the fluorescent lamp 21, and a pair of terminals 23 disposed on the side of the case 22 opposite the main body of the fluorescent lamp 21. The pair of terminals 23 have the ends end tips bent to be retained by the feed side element 10 and establish electrical connection with the feed side terminals when they are inserted into the pair of feed side element retaining holes respectively 10 and moved in the direction of rotation around the center of the fluorescent lamp.
