PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance illuminance efficiency in temperature characteristics of a fluorescent lamp and to resolve deficiencies such as start failure of the fluorescent lamp at a low temperature and reduce illuminance, etc.;SOLUTION: This long fluorescent lamp insulating cylinder 5 contains a UV absorber substantially transmit visible lights having a wavelength longer than 430 nm to a light source for generating lights including ultraviolet rays. A heating element layer is formed on the half peripheral surface part of the inner wall surface part of the insulating cylinder 5. A fixed cap formed with an opening for inserting a fluorescent tube is mounted in the opening of the fluorescent lamp insulating cylinder 5 and a movable cap formed with an opening for inserting the fluorescent tube and slidable in the longitudinal direction of the fluorescent lamp insulting cylinder 5 is mounted in the other opening. A temperature sensor 13 is disposed close to the outer side surface of the fluorescent lamp insulating cylinder 5. A sensor 12 detects the temperature of the outer side surface of the fluorescent lamp insulating cylinder 5 exposed to a cold air and a voltage is supplied for a ballast of a fluorescent lamp.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
