Disclosed is a fluorescent material for authenticity assessment that is capable of emitting visible light at an emission intensity by which sufficient distinction is possible with the naked eye, even with infrared irradiation at a relatively weak intensity, and in which the duration of the light emission also enables the emission of light for a long period of time at a degree by which sufficient distinction is possible with the naked eye. The fluorescent material for authenticity assessment is represented by the formula (Sr1-x-yEuxTmy)AlnO1+1.5n; wherein x is 0.003 ≦ x ≦ 0.025, y is 0.004 ≦ y ≦ 0.1, and n is 2.0 ≦ n ≦ 2.04. The result is a fluorescent material for authenticity assessment that emits visible light by which sufficient distinction is possible with the naked eye, even with infrared irradiation at a relatively weak intensity.
