The apparatus (6) has a conveyor device (20) with conveyor elements (22, 24) for conveying of sausages, where the conveyor elements are brought in contact with the sausages and is driven by a drive motor. The conveyor device is designed as a belt or chain conveyor with circulating belts or chains, where the sausages are arranged between the belts or chains during portioning and/or transport.
