The present invention relates to a catalyst for a water phase reforming reaction carrying platinum by using mesoporous alumina as a carrier, and a method for producing the same. In addition, the present invention relates to a method for improving the yield and reaction rate of hydrogen in the water phase reforming reaction using the catalyst. Although the catalyst of the present invention is structurally stable, the yield of hydrogen is high and the reaction rate is rapidly increased. Therefore, the efficiency of the reaction, such as the rate of hydrogen production and the yield of hydrogen, is increased when the water phase reforming of the biomass is carried out using the present catalyst. It is an eco-friendly green growth technology because it has a high effect.
