The method involves enabling preset charging and discharging processes for activating electro-chemical processes in single cells (1.1). The single cells are electrically serially and/or parallelly connected in a cell assembly (4). The cell assembly is electrically connected with a charging/discharging unit. The single cells are cooled by a cooling device (7) that is arranged at the cell assembly. The cooling device is connected with a cooling system by a cooling circuit. An independent claim is also included for a forming device comprising a charging/discharging unit.
