The battery (1) has battery cells e.g. lithium ion cells, interconnected parallelly and/or serially with one another, and a cooling device with a cooling plate for tempering the cells. The cooling device is heat-conductively connected with the cells by powder i.e. electrically non-conductive mineral powder, made of a ceramic material, where the powder consists of aluminum nitride and/or alumina and/or silicon dioxide and/or boron nitride. Each cell includes an electrically isolated cell housing, and the cooling device has heat guidance elements (6). An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a battery.
