The assembly (1) has fixed counter electrodes (18, 19) that are provided on sides of a plane (15), respectively, to form a pair of electrodes (16, 17) along a practically symmetrical plane arrangement. One of the counter electrodes is provided at one side of the plane in short-circuit with another counter electrode on another side of the plane. The counter electrodes are arranged above and below mass elements (8, 9) of an oscillating assembly (3). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a rotational speed sensor comprising an oscillating assembly (2) a method for determining the rotational speed using an electrode assembly.
