PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sentence proofreading program and a sentence proofreading apparatus for proofreading a sentence including a morpheme having two or more candidates of a modification destination so that the candidate of the modification destination of the morpheme is narrowed to one candidate.SOLUTION: A sentence proofreading apparatus 1 includes: morpheme analysis means 101 for analyzing morphemes included in an object sentence; ambiguity detection means 102 for detecting a morpheme including two or more candidates of the modification destination from the morphemes; and sentence proofreading means 103 for proofreading sentences such that the candidates of the modification destination of a morpheme whose modification destination is unspecified and which is detected by the ambiguity detection means 102 are narrowed to one candidate by insertion of at least one continuous modification clause which is not subject to adnominal modification into the sentence.
