PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exposure time control function for an address control type imaging apparatus capable of suppressing or eliminating motion distortion caused by line exposure. PSOLUTION: Detection regions are divided into a plurality of systems and a unit signal is independently read by each region. For example, a region of an imaging section 410 is divided into four regions, and column processing sections 420 for reading and processing pixel signals generated in the imaging section 410 are provided by the number of region divisions. The column processing sections 420 whose number is equal to the number of region divisions are arranged to two upper and lower positions of the two-dimensional region of the imaging section 410. Pixel signals are sequentially read from the column signal processing sections 422a, 422b of the lower 2 systems through a horizontal signal line 486d and given to an output section 488d. Pixel signals are sequentially read from the column signal processing sections 422c, 422d of the upper 2 systems through a horizontal signal line 486u and given to an output section 488u. Reading in the horizontal direction is carried out by the upper and lower systems independently of each other temporally in the simultaneous parallel processing.
