PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector for a flat-type conductor capable of obtaining sufficient wiping effect when the flat-type conductor is inserted, and securing a sufficient contact pressure between it and a terminal after insertion.SOLUTION: A terminal 20 has a plurality of elastic arm parts 25, 26, and the elastic arm parts 25, 26 can be elastically displaced by pressing contact parts 25A, 26A with a flat-type conductor. A housing or a movable member 30 at an opening position has a restraining face 31A contacting the flat-type conductor. A distance between the restraining face 31A and a backward contact part in a thickness direction of the flat-type conductor is formed narrower than the thickness of the flat-type conductor. Contact parts of the plural elastic arm parts are placed at different positions in a forward and backward direction. At least the contact part placed at a backmost position has an interference amount between it and a face of the flat-type conductor during insertion. While the elastic arm part having the contact part placed at the backmost position is being elastically displaced, an abutment part is in abutted with the housing, so as to make it difficult to elastically displace the contact part 26A of the elastic arm part 26.
