A bioreactor for in vitro culture of plants by temporary immersion, com- prising: a container (10) with an upper compartment (5) for receiving plant tissue, and a lower compartment (4) for receiving nutrient solution; a lid (50) configured to seal an opening (18) of the container (10), a first gas inlet (181) configured to convey gas into the lower compartment (4), such that the gas can press the nutrient solution into the upper compartment (5) to allow it to come into contact with plant tissue, and a second gas inlet (182) configured to convey gas into the upper compartment (5).
