The household appliance has a cover plate, where a housing is arranged under the cover plate. A safety bracket (9) is attached with a screw (18) at the side walls of the housing. A through-hole is designed at the safety bracket for guiding a screw pin of the screw. The screw is formed by threads (17,21,22) such that a support member is self-positioned to the lower side of the cover plate. An independent claim is also included for a method for positioning a safety bracket at a housing of a household appliance.
