PURPOSE: A wire rope type water gate with a water gate locking device is provided to distribute the force of supporting a raised water gate by hanging a hook formed on a side of a wire winch on a hook pin formed on the top of the water gate. CONSTITUTION: A wire rope type water gate comprises a concrete structure(10), a wire winch(20), a wire rope(30), a wire pulley(40), a water gate(50), and a water gate locking device(100). The wire winch is installed on the top of the concrete structure. The wire rope is hung on the wire pulley and wound/unwound with the wire winch. The water gate opens and closes a waterway. The water gate locking device, which is installed on the top of the concrete structure, holds the top of the water gate in order to fix the raised water gate and releases the water gate to be lowered.
