Tow Bridge finally restored After over two years and £4m,the restoration of Tower Bridge has finally been completed.Over 1,500 tonnes of grit-blasting sand was used to strip the steelwork bare and 22,000 litres of paint to recover it.The polythene wraps,scaffolding and cradles which were a feature of the bridge for almost three years have come off,and the bridge is now as clean and fresh as it ever will be and is ready forthe Olympics next year.
