An electronic control unit (ECU) (10) is connected to an actuator (5) via electrical supply lines (7). The ECU is connected with switches, encoders and sensors (S) while regulating a control strategy of electrical supply lines by a microprocessor implemented with a software module. An electrically actuatable wheel brake (23) is arranged between friction elements (2-4) for generating a defined clamping force. The operating information is received or transmitted at/from the actuator to the ECU through electrical supply line and without a separate data line (6). An independent claim is included for actuator system.
