The exhaust hood has a hollow cylinder, in which suction opening projects over a portion of the circumference of the hollow cylinder. An air inlet opening (420) is provided with a suction pipe (42). The suction opening has the minimum distance between the guide surfaces (413). An independent claim is also included for a method for the separation of aerosols from air.
