PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize power loss when equalizing the voltage of a lithium ion cell during the charging of a lithium ion battery pack.SOLUTION: A management device 3 of a lithium ion battery pack 20 including a plurality of lithium ion cells 2 connected in series comprises a voltmeter 4 for measuring the cell voltage V2, bypass circuits 5a connected, respectively, with the cells, cell voltage adjustment determination means for determining whether adjustment of the cell voltage V2 is required or not based on the cell voltage V2 measured, power transport means for transporting power between the bypass circuits 5a and the battery pack 20, and control means for operating the power transport means so that the cell voltage V2 of the cell 2 has a specified reference value when the cell voltage adjustment determination means determines that adjustment of the cell voltage is required.
