PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new organometallic complex having a new chemical structure and physical properties and useful for adsorption and desorption of various kinds of gases and a gas-occluding agent composed of the organometallic complex. PSOLUTION: The organic carboxylic acid metal complex is composed of a recurring unit represented by general formula [I] (wherein MSP1/SPand MSP2/SPare each independently a metal which can become divalent, e.g. Cu or Rh; RSP1a/SP, RSP1b/SP, RSP1c/SPand RSP1d/SPare each independently an organic group containing a conjugated system, e.g. a phenyl group).
