The present invention provides a policy updating device that is capable of appropriately updating software policies in response to resource configuration changes. The policy updating device is provided with: a policy search means which reads, from a resource management means, which receives resource identifiers, and associates and stores resource identifiers with installation location resource identifiers representing installed resources identified by said resource identifiers, an installation location resource identifier corresponding to a resource identifier, and reads the software policy corresponding to the resource identifier and the installation location resource identifier; and a policy updating means which updates the software policy, associates the updated software policy with the resource identifier and the installation destination resource identifier, and stores the updated software policy in a policy storage means.
