The method involves presenting (S1) an acoustic stimulus to the person and detecting (S2) a neuronal activity in the brain of the person on the basis of the acoustic stimulus. The hearing aid is set (S6), where the acoustic stimulus is a binaural stimulus. The binaural interaction is derived (S3) from the neural activity of a neural measure for a neurone. The maximum neural response is determined (S4) with respect to the setting parameters and the hearing device is adjusted in response to the neuronal level. An independent claim is included for a device for adjusting automated hearing apparatus with an audio device.
