The module has a container (1) comprising a coolant inlet (4) and a coolant outlet (5), and an ion exchange material (2), where a component of the functional module is fluid coupled with the container. The coolant inlet and/or the coolant outlet of the container are arranged with a release layer (6). A passage is formed for a coolant as a result of the fluidic coupling of the container with the component of the functional module. The component comprises a retainer, and a spring element is arranged between a lid unit and the container. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing the functional module.
