The mechanism (10) has a bolt (24a) movably mounted between a locking position, in which the bolt is radially engaged in a striking plate (22) to lock a flange (12) on a hub (14), and an unlocking position, in which the bolt is retracted to release the flange. A control rod (38) axially extends from a front part to a rear part through a hole from a passage that is placed in the flange. An actuation head (42) moves from a rear part to a front part of a drive section (36) that is engaged to the bolt in displacement toward the locking position or unlocking position.
