PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conference server which allows for suitable data communication with each terminal participating in remote conference, and to provide a communication method, a computer program and a remote conference system.;SOLUTION: A conference server acquires media data transmitted from a first terminal, and media data transmitted from a second terminal. Media data from the first terminal is transmitted to the second terminal, and media data from the second terminal is transmitted to the first terminal. In the conference server, a high compression instruction for converting into media data of second compression rate higher than a first compression rate is set at a first timing when the session of remote conference is established with the first terminal. In the conference server, media data of first compression rate is acquired from the first terminal. In the conference server, media data of second compression rate created from media data from the first terminal is acquired according to the high compression instruction, and transmitted to the second terminal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
