Sterile wound dressing with a synthetic three-block elastomer

Sterile wound dressing comprises a carrier and a non-absorbent elastomeric wound contact layer comprising an elastomeric matrix, which is formed by a synthetic triblock elastomer comprising a copolymer of polystyrene block and/or polyolefin block, preferably styrene-ethylene-propylene-styrene, polystyrene-polyethylene-polybutylene-polystyrene, polystyrene-b-poly(ethylene/propylene)-b-polystyrene), where the total polymer content is less than 3.2 wt.%, preferably = 2.6 wt.%. The wound dressing is plasticized by a non-polar oil and/or Vaseline(RTM: Petroleum jelly). An independent claim is also included for a material for producing the wound contact layer of the above wound dressing. ACTIVITY : Vulnerary. No biological data given.
