The present invention addresses the problem of providing a tooth regeneration method wherein the shape of the crown, cusp, and root are controlled such that the regenerated tooth occludes normally, exhibits strength equivalent to that of a normal tooth, and functions equivalently to a normal tooth. The present invention provides a method for culturing tooth- or tooth-germ-derived cells, said method including a step in which said cells are cultured in the presence of growth factors including IGF, and a method for producing a shape-controlled organ, namely an artificial tooth, wherein in the aforementioned culturing step, the tooth- or tooth-germ-derived cells are laid out in a support containing 0.5-8 µg/ml of IGF and comprise an aggregate of mesenchymal cells and an aggregate of epithelial cells laid out so as to be in contact with the aggregate of mesenchymal cells. The present invention also provides processed cell products, namely reconstructed artificial tooth germ and an artificial tooth.
