METHOD OF SUPPRESSING ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANT BACTERIA'S PROLIFERATION THROUGH USING ANTIBIOTICS AFTER INCREASING SENSIBILITY FOR ANTIBIOTICS BY APPLYING INCOMPATABILITY OF PLASMID
The present invention relates to a method for suppressing the proliferation of bacteria having antibiotic resistance by using a plasmid containing an antibiotic-resistant gene. A plasmid having the same origin of replication as the plasmid containing an antibiotic-resistant gene is introduced into bacteria. If the plasmid having the same origin of replication as the plasmid containing the antibiotic-resistant gene is not introduced, the bacteria have offspring having only plasmids with the antibiotic-resistant gene. However, by introduction of the plasmid having the same origin of replication as the plasmid containing the antibiotic-resistant gene, the bacteria have offspring having plasmids not containing the antibiotic-resistant gene as well as offspring having plasmids containing the antibiotic-resistant gene through incompatibility of plasmid. Thus, even though the number of offspring of the bacteria is not changed, the number of antibiotic-resistant bacteria is decreased by the number of bacteria having plasmids not containing the antibiotic-resistant gene. Further, antibiotics still have an antibiotic effect on the bacteria having plasmids not containing the antibiotic-resistant gene. Therefore, upon administration of an antibiotic, the method of the present invention can suppress the bacterial proliferation as compared with when the method of the present invention is not employed.
