The invention relates to the improvement of a plant's response to Nod and Myc-LCO lipochitooligosaccharide factors, by the expression in said plant of a LysM patterned receptor kinase homologous to the Medicago truncatula LYR3 protein, and capable of binding with high affinity to lipochitooligosaccharides.
