PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film having durability such as strength, resistance to breakage, cold resistance, heat resistance and retort durability, enough transparency giving visibility for a content, and barrier property against water vapor so as to maintain qualities in long-term storage, and to provide a resin composition used for the above film.SOLUTION: A water vapor barrier resin is provided, comprising a polyvinyl ether having a repeating unit of a specific structure; and a water vapor barrier film using the above resin is provided. The resin comprising the polyvinyl ether having a specific structure is used as a protective coating material for a vapor deposition surface of a vapor deposition film.
