PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable composition that can be used to form a hard coat film having excellent pencil hardness, low curing shrinkage and transparency, as well as also having excellent flexing resistance and scratch resistance.SOLUTION: Provided is an organic-inorganic composite production method by surface treating an inorganic oxide fine particle with a silane coupling agent having at least 2 (meth)acryloyl groups to obtain an organic-inorganic composite to which the silane coupling agent is covalently bonded, and the method has a step of condensation reacting an alkoxy silyl group-and-isocyanato group-containing isocyanato-group compound, and a hydroxyl group-containing compound having at least 2 (meth)acryloyl groups and at least 1 hydroxyl group and having a hydroxyl value of 75 mgKOH/g or more, to obtain the silane coupling agent, and in which setting the hydroxyl value of the hydroxyl group compound as X(mgKOH/g), the mass of the hydroxyl group compound as Y(g), and the mole number of the isocyanato group as Z(mmol), the value of Z/(XY/56.1) is 0.6 or more and 1.2 or less.
