Provided are an uplink power control method and a device thereof. The method comprises: optimizing an uplink power control parameter of a plurality of cells according to a KPI model, which KPI model is used to indicate a mapping relationship between the uplink power control parameter of the plurality of cells and at least one KPI of a network where the plurality of cells are located; and performing uplink power control on a user equipment in the plurality of cells according to the uplink power control parameter of the plurality of cells. In the embodiment of the present invention, by way of taking into account the impact of an uplink power control parameter of a plurality of cells on the KPI of a network where the plurality of cells are located, a more optimized uplink power control parameter is obtained from the perspective of the overall performance of the network, thus the overall performance of the network is improved.
