The present invention confirms that single treatment of Rubus occidentalis or red ginseng extracts or treatment of mixture thereof on human hepatocytes inhibits cholesterol synthesis of cells, and confirms an extractant and concentration of an extract which is the most effective for inhibiting cholesterol synthesis. The present invention: confirms effects of an extract mixture on activities of enzymes by measuring activities of intracellular cholesterol metabolism-related enzymes in a mixture of Rubus occidentalis and red ginseng extracts, polyphenol which is a single substance of Rubus occidentalis and ginsenisides which is the single substance of red ginseng; and understands effects of the extracts on expression of intracellular HDL/LDL-related genes. According to a screening result of the Rubus occidentalis and red ginseng extracts, caffeic acid, elligic acid, ferulic acid, and gallic acid which are single substances among an immature fruit have a cholesterol inhibition effect in the Rubus occidentalis, and ginsenoside-Rd, ginsenoside-Rf, and ginsenoside-Rg2 which are single substances of the red ginseng extract have the cholesterol inhibition effect in the red ginseng.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
