The present invention relates to a method for performing association between multiple powerline communication modems connected through powerline-based bus topologies. The method comprise the steps of: (a) constituting a proxy list in a neighbor node by receiving proxies for association from multiple powerline communication modems through a master powerline communication modem; (b) transmitting training sequences to one or more powerline communication modems based on the proxy list through the master poewrline communication modem; (c) selecting one of the powerline communication modems as a slave powerline communication modem based on a channel estimation result using training sequences between the powerline communication modems through the master powerline communication modem; and (d) performing association on the master powerline communication modem with the slave powerline communication modem.
