The present invention relates to a lever for maintaining tension of a cable for operating a parking brake and a parking brake system using the same and, more specifically, to a lever for maintaining tension of a cable for operating a parking brake capable of maintaining a tension of cable connected with the lever of the parking brake of a vehicle at a predetermined level, and a parking brake system using the same. The lever for maintaining tension of a cable for operating a parking brake can uniformly maintain a tension of cable by controlling an initial position of the lever using an engagement structure of upper and lower gears, mutually transferring only rotation torque caused by a force of pulling cable without mutually transferring rotation torque caused by recovery force of a spring for tension adjustment, along with a spring for tension adjustment, applying the spring force for one-sided rotation to a lever for maintaining tension.
