The present invention relates to a method for coping with a severe accident in a nuclear power plant and more specifically, to the method for preventing reactor core damage and nuclear reactor vessel damage per assembly of each damage state by considering AC electricity loss, DC electricity loss, nuclear furnace coolant inventory loss and secondary heat removal function loss, which are damage states influencing on a nuclear power plant system, when the severe accident exceeding construction criteria occurs in the nuclear power plant. Also, the method of the present invention can prevent leakage of radioactivity to the external environment by stopping or managing and maintaining the nuclear power plant safely in case of severe disaster accident, by suggesting not only a method for preventing reactor core damage but also a method for preventing the nuclear reactor vessel damage.
