The invention relates to a slaughtering device (1) for large slaughter animals (3), such as cattle or camels, having a U-shaped receptacle (5), in which the slaughter animal (3) is introduced and held during slaughtering (4), having an adjustable holding device (22) for stretching the neck during the slaughtering process (4), wherein the receptacle (5) can be pivoted about an axis from a vertical position (VP) to a turned position (UP) in which the throat of the slaughter animal (3) is cut (4) transversely. The receptacle (5) is placed directly on the floor (2) in the vertical position (VP), and a support frame (9) is placed on the floor (2) next to the receptacle (5), wherein the receptacle (5) can be pivoted from the vertical position to the turned position (UP) by means of an articulation (11) and an actuation means (12) between a side (6) of the receptacle (5) and the support frame (9), and that after slaughter (4) several slaughter animals (3) are conveyed from the receptacle (5) pivoted into the turned position (UP) to a roller conveyor (13) to bleed out, a drain (15) being arranged next to said roller conveyor to drain away the blood.
