At least a portion of an embodiment of the present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for controlling an engine in a bi-fuel vehicle, which can use gasoline and compressed natural gas. The method comprises the following steps of: receiving a signal for determining a type of fuel; determining whether fuel change is required in accordance with the determined fuel by the signal; calculating an injection amount of fuel and a compressing ratio which are changed when the fuel change is required; determining whether the calculated injection amount of fuel and the compressing ratio satisfy a fuel change condition; and injecting the fuel which is changed to the injection amount of the calculated fuel to a cylinder when the fuel change condition is satisfied in accordance with the determination result, and controlling a stroke for a piston of the cylinder to be operated in accordance with the calculated compressing ratio.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
