Provided are: a method for producing a soya bean oil having reduced odour in bright places; a method for producing a mixed oil obtained by mixing said soya bean oil; and a method for inhibiting soya bean oil odour in bright places. The method for producing the soya bean oil includes a step in which oil pressed from soya beans is irradiated with ultraviolet light having a wavelength of 200-280 nm so as to reduce the amount (the F3 amount) of 3, 4-dimethyl-5-pentyl-2-furan nonanoic acid in the oil. Furthermore, the method for producing the soya bean oil includes a step in which lipoxygenase is brought into contact with the oil pressed from soya beans, so as to reduce the F3 amount in the oil. The method for producing the mixed oil includes a step in which the soya bean oil obtained using the aforementioned method is mixed with another edible oil. In the method for reducing soya bean oil odour in bright places, the oil pressed from soya beans is irradiated with ultraviolet light having a wavelength of 200-280 nm, or is brought into contact with lipoxygenase, so as to reduce the F3 amount in the oil.
