PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new stock for food and drink capable of improving the flavor unpreferable in food and drink and producing food and drink having satisfactory flavor by blending the same into the food and drink.;SOLUTION: There is provided a flavor improving agent for food and drink comprising a sponge cucumber and/or its processed product as an effective ingredient. Also provided is a method for improving the flavor of food and drink characterized in that, by adding a sponge cucumber and/or its processed product to food and drink, flavor improvement selected from acid taste reduction, milk smell reduction and collagen smell reduction is imparted.
