PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dual-roll type vertical mold casting apparatus and a dual-roll type vertical mold casting method which can suppress foreign matters generated from a side dam plate from contaminating a casting product.SOLUTION: An apparatus of this invention comprises a pair of casting rolls 12, 13, arranged facing each other with a predetermined roll gap 13 to rotate at the same peripheral velocity and elastically energized in a direction of relatively approaching each other, and a molten metal nozzle 14, including a pair of main dam plates 141, 142 facing each other in parallel with the rotary shaft and a pair of main dam plates 143, 144, arranged facing each other orthogonally to the rotary shaft and brought in tight contact with both end faces of the pair of the main dam plates, and arranged above the roll gap of the pair of cast rolls to receive an injection of an aluminum-based material molten metal 5, where at least one of the pair of side dam plates is provided to be capable of moving along a vertical direction in a condition of being pressed on the pair of main dam plates and end faces of the pair of cast rolls.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1C
