The present invention relates to the development of an L-arabinose isomerase variant derived from Thermotoga neapolitana DSM 5068, which is a type of thermophile, on the basis of protein molecular modeling. In addition, the present invention relates to a method for producing D-tagatose from D-galactose by using the enzyme or a Corynebacterium microorganism expressing the same.
