The present invention provides oxalamide compounds, having the formula:(see above formula)and comestibly acceptable salts thereof, and their use as novel flavor ortaste modifiers,such as a flavoring or flavoring agents and flavor or taste enhancers, moreparticularly,savory (the 'umami' taste of monosodium glutamate) or sweet taste modifiers,savory orsweet flavoring agents and savory or sweet flavor enhancers, to improve theflavor ortaste of food, beverages, and other comestible or orally administeredmedicinal productsor compositions.
