To detect changes in a conveyance environment of a medium.SOLUTION: A recording device 10 includes: a delivery unit 20A; a conveyance unit 20B; a recording unit 40; and a control device 50. The delivery unit 20A includes: a first rotary shaft 21 for holding a roll body R1; and a roll motor 22. The conveyance unit 20B includes: a first driving roller 23 and a first driven roller 24 for transferring a medium 100 downstream in a conveyance direction X; and a conveyance motor 25. The control device 50 includes: a control part 52 for controlling the roll motor 22 and the conveyance motor 25; a load current detection part 51 for detecting a load current of the conveyance motor 25; and an environment change detection part 53 for detecting changes in a conveyance environment of the medium 100, on the basis of the load current detected during conveyance of the medium 100 in the conveyance direction X.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
