To provide a method for use of a solid-liquid separator by which a service life of a screw due to wear can be extended.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for use of a solid-liquid separator 100 comprising: a screw 2 which rotates in association of rotation of a rotary shaft 1 and delivers a processed object; a motor 4 for rotating and driving the rotary shaft 1; and a laminated filter body 3 which includes plural stationery plates 31 and movable plates 32 which are located between adjacent stationery plates 31, contact an outer periphery of the screw 2 and move in association with rotation of the screw 2, in which a filtration groove S is formed between adjacent stationery plates 31, and which is so located as to surround the screw 2. According to the method for use of this solid-liquid separator 100 which separates the processed object into a liquid component and a solid component, a position of the screw 2 in a rotation axis direction with respect to the laminated filter body 3 is changed, thereby changing a contact position of the screw 2 with the movable plate 32 during operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
