PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost for manufacturing a device for detecting the magnetic metal foreign substances in an inspection target object and the cost for maintenance and management of the device.SOLUTION: Magnetism flowing in one way from a magnetic metal foreign substance 30 contained in a detection target object 12 is detected by a flux gate sensor FG. A core 21a of the flux gate sensor FG extends straight at least partially. A part of at least one pair of magnetic materials 23 and 24 extending into a direction perpendicular to the direction of flow of the detection target object 12 is fixed to at least one of both ends 21c and 21d of the core 21a, with a required space CL in between.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
